“I got it. I read it. I love it … THANK YOU!”

The client was a philanthropist, artist, and activist whose charity served the elderly and economically disadvantaged through art. She wanted a short book for donors and decision-makers that told her life story alongside the work of her organization. Over six hours by phone, we wrote a memoir-business hybrid — one of our favorite genres.

A son commissioned these “twin” memoirs for his divorced parents, wanting to preserve each of their stories for his children, nieces, and nephews. We interviewed each parent separately over three months, then produced two books of identical size and style with linen covers and silver titles designed to sit beautifully side by side on a shelf. A graceful way to honor two histories, and keep a family’s whole story together.

This author came to us after another ghostwriter had failed her — the pages were dull and sounded nothing like her. Starting from more than forty hours of interviews, we rebuilt the book chapter by chapter, often side by side at the keyboard searching for the exact words. Over three years of close collaboration, we crafted a manuscript that won her a major New York agent and reached Amazon bestseller status more than once.

A hybrid memoir and leadership book that draws on the author’s relationship with her difficult father to offer readers a way through the challenge of working with narcissists. Over ten hours of interviews, we wrote a 25,000-word core version together, which she then expanded into a full-length book of her own.

The author began a memoir of her father’s life and business to give him as a gift, but her day job and family left her overwhelmed. We took her manuscript, ran six hours of interviews with her father, her brother, and her, then wove it all into a rewritten draft — a private book that passed down her father’s legacy to friends and family.

A multi-published author and busy physician wanted a memoir spanning his life’s work as a doctor, activist, father, and grandfather — woven through with political, social, religious, and philosophical reflection. We wrote two drafts: first a shorter, personal edition for family and friends, then a full-length version for a general audience, which he expanded and published with Balboa Press.

A commemorative book created to mark a moment in time, honoring the “ordinary” people on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19. We interviewed each person over Zoom and wrote an individual profile, then wove the many voices into a single, cohesive tribute. A moving example of how dozens of separate stories can become one evocative whole. The finished book served the company as both a keepsake and a fundraising piece.

A personal memoir given as a gift from the author’s wife. Reluctant at first to tell his story, he soon warmed to the project as he recognized the legacy he wanted to pass on. The beautiful, finished book was a message for his family, and especially his grandchildren, about values and building something that lasts.

We wrote a book proposal to bring this insider’s account of the music industry to agents and editors. The project has since drawn interest from a documentary filmmaker, who is now shopping the book as part of a joint film-and-book venture.

Writing about childhood trauma, this author brought us a full manuscript that needed a high-level developmental edit. We read the work closely and delivered a detailed editorial letter, assessing structure, pacing, and emotional arc, and offering a clear roadmap for revision. The author is now deepening the manuscript with that guidance, strengthening the book as it moves toward publication.

We conducted more than 40 hours of in-person interviews over a full year to build this 75,000-word legacy book with over 100 photographs and extensive historical research.

A corporate history charting one company’s rise from a bootstrapped startup to a major player on the global stage. Conceived as a tribute to the early investors who took a chance, the current board, and the more than 200 employees, many of whom had never known the company’s origins. The book preserved a shared history and gave a growing workforce a story to belong to.
